2016 Ice Watch winner selected

The annual Housatonic River Ice Watch is a game to guess when the ice on the river will melt each year. Unfortunately in 2016 the fluctuating temperatures did not allow the Kent Volunteer Fire Department to get the tripod out on an ice-covered river and conduct the fundraiser in the traditional way.

Instead, all of the guesses were put together and a drawing was held Monday, March 7 at the regular monthly meeting of KVFD. The winner was drawn by Rob Kennedy and the winning guess was from Cecile Hartt of Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Hartt will receive one half, or $406.50, of the total $813.00 collected during the winter fundraiser.

KVFD thanks everyone who participated and purchased a guess!
