The Kent Volunteer Fire Department is made up of a diverse group of people with many different interests.

The organization’s purpose is the preservation and the protection of life, limb and property from fire and other hazards.

The Fire Department was first incorporated in 1911 and is a non-profit organization with 501c3 recognition from the IRS.

Today there are 64 emergency members who respond to a variety of calls from actual structure fires to medical emergencies, 26 veterans and 10 auxiliary members who assist with non emergency tasks such as fundraising.

The department provides fire, rescue and ambulance services to the Town of Kent.

      The KVFD is always looking for new members If you are interested in helping your community, whether it is providing lifesaving service as an EMT, MRT or Firefighter; or helping support the department through our Auxilliary; or getting your feet wet as a Junior, the KVFD welcomes new members year-round.
