This 2004 Ford E-450 with a PL Custom ambulance body protects the citizens and visitors of Kent. It was purchased as a demonstrator in December of 2004 after our 1997 ambulance was destroyed by a fire. We operate as a BLS unit licensed in the state of Connecticut. Most patients are transported to either New Milford or Sharon Hospital.

KENT 1′O

1991 Mack chassis with a Boardman body. This unit was built by Gowans- Knight Fire Equipment in Watertown, CT. It has a Waterous 1250 GPM pump with a 2000 gallon poly tank. This unit is our second due engine and also responds as our tanker for mutual aid calls.

KENT 3′O

1969 Jeep Army Surplus. This unit is used for brush fire calls. It carries 125 gallons of water and various brush fire hand tools and back pack pumps. This truck was built by members of the fire department and is powered by a Chevy 350. This truck has seen its fair share of off road work!

KENT 4′O

1998 Chevrolet Pick-up. This unit is our second brush truck and utility vehicle. It carries 125 gallons of water and various brush fire hand tools and back pack pumps. This truck is also used by fire police for traffic control during large incidents. It also hauls our trailer carrying our antique hand drawn hose cart and our boat trailer.

KENT 5′O

1995 International Chassis with a 4 Guys body. This truck was built by 4 Guys in Meyersdale, PA. It has a Waterous 1250 GPM pump and carries 1000 gallons of water. This engine is our first due unit at all calls.

KENT 6′O

1981 Grumman/Oran custom cab. This unit was also built by Gowans- Knight Fire Equipment in Watertown, CT. This pumper was one of the first of its kind in this area. Used as a water source pumper, it has a 1,500 GPM Waterous pump. It carries almost a mile of 5″ LDH (large diameter hose). Instead of it being flat laid on the back of a hose bed, it is carried on two large reels for ease of deployment and clean up. This truck is key to successful operations in rural firefighting. This unit was refurbished by GK in 2004.

KENT 7′O

This 1987 Chevrolet with an E-One Aluminum Rescue Body was donated to the department by one of the former local car dealerships in 1987. It served as our rescue truck up until the time we grew out of it in 2002. It currently serves as our Hazardous Materials vehicle and carries everything from personal protective suits, to speedy dry to waterway absorbent booms.

KENT 8′O

2002 International Chassis with a Marion Walk in Rescue Body. This truck is used for motor vehicle crashes with the Hurst equipment pre-connected off the back compartment. It has an on-board generator, rope, and high angle, mountain, and trail rescue equipment. It also carries our cascade system for filling SCBA bottles. This unit has a walk in compartment with seating and a dressing area so members can don cold water rescue suits en-route to a call. The unit is also set up with multiple jurisdiction radio communications for operation as a command post. It is equipped with a light tower and side awning. This truck is ready for any call!
