The Kent Volunteer Fire Department has been training on its new aerial truck and expects to have the vehicle officially in service in the near future.

President Jim Canning along with several officers and members met with the Board of Finance in July to review the additional equipment needs to properly outfit the truck for service. The town approved the request Sept. 4 during a town meeting.

The Department has agreed to sell the engine received from the White Marsh company and all proceeds from the sale of the truck will be given to the town to help offset the cost of the new aerial equipment.
