The Kent Republican Town Committee will help raise funds for a CPR device for the Kent Volunteer Fire Department.
A Spaghetti Dinner will be held May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the firehouse, 28 Maple St., to raise funds for KVFD to purchase a Lucas 3 Chest Compression System, which is a CPR device. The manufacturer states it is designed to “help improve outcomes of sudden cardiac arrest victims and improve operations for medical responders.” The unit performs 102 compressions per minute with a depth of 2.1 inches.
The cost is $10 for a single, $15 for a couple, $25 for (an immediate) family. The meal includes fresh made pasta, sauce, meatballs, fresh picked organic salad, bread, and pies by local baker Patsy Stroble.
KVFD has one device that was provided to it from a grant from Danbury Hospital. The dinner will raise funds for a second device for the second ambulance.
